The daughter of actress Blythe Danner and producer Bruce Paltrow, Gwyneth Paltrow made her screen debut as the young Wendy in Steven Spielberg's "Peter Pan" derivation Hook (1991). Gwyneth's scene-stealing propensities first surfaced in 1993's Flesh and Bone, in which, playing a wise-lipped grifter, she held her own with such cinematic elder statespersons as James Caan and Dennis Quaid. She also made her few scenes count in Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle (1994) and Jefferson in Paris (1994), playing a 1920s "celebrity groupie" in the former and Jefferson's snotty daughter in the latter. Come 1995, and Gwyneth Paltrow seemed to be everwhere: starring in Moonlight and Valentino, Seven, Sydney and The Pallbearers. Since then, her career continues to progress in high gear. |
